Ash ("we", "our", or "the app") is a therapeutic journaling application. Privacy is not a feature of Ash — it is the foundation. This policy explains exactly what data Ash does and does not collect.
Your journal text is never saved, stored, or transmitted. When you write during a ritual, your words exist only in your device's temporary memory. Once the burn animation completes, your text is permanently discarded. There is no copy, no backup, and no way to recover it.
We do not create user accounts. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifying information through the app.
Ash stores a small amount of preference data on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.
You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.
If you subscribe to Ash Pro, your purchase is processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives purchase-related data (such as transaction identifiers and subscription status) from the app stores. RevenueCat does not receive any journal text or personal information from Ash.

Purchases are handled entirely by the respective app store. We do not process or store payment information directly.
Ash requests microphone and speech recognition permissions only if you choose to use the voice journaling feature. Speech is processed using your device's built-in speech recognition, which may use on-device or cloud-based processing depending on your device and operating system settings. Ash does not independently transmit audio data.
Ash does not use any analytics services, tracking SDKs, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or behavioral data. There are no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no tracking pixels.
Ash is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since Ash does not collect personal information from any user, there is no data to delete.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Ash after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
